A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.Opportunity:/nRN - General/n/nJob Details:/n• Work in NICU with 1:3 patient ratio across all shifts/n• Care for neonates and infants with average daily census of 30 patients/n• Float to mother baby and pediatrics units as needed/n• Every other weekend coverage required/n• 24-hour orientation provided/n• Epic charting system experience required/n• Required certifications: BLS and NRP/n• Minimum 2 years NICU experience required (3 years if first-time traveler)/n• Must be willing to participate in Emergency Team assignments during emergency events/n• Travel experience required/n• Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted)/n• Work with specialized NICU equipment including Oscillator, Jet, Bubble CPAP, HFNC, and Transcutaneous CO2/n• Perform procedures including umbilical lines, lumbar puncture, PICC placement, and intubation/n• Care for patients with diagnoses including prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, TTN, hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, feeding difficulties, thermoregulation issues, and NOWS/n• Skills required: blood glucose monitoring, phototherapy, breastfeeding support, various feeding methods, tube placement and management, IV starts and maintenance, neonatal dosage calculations, and developmental care/n• Louisiana compact license or Louisiana license required upon submittal/n• NURSYS report must be current within 4 weeks of submission/n/nFacility:/nThis healthcare facility features a 46-bed NICU providing comprehensive care for critically ill neonates and infants. The unit maintains interdisciplinary support services including respiratory services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary support.
