Our client is a leading provider of fencing solutions throughout the Midwest ($16M in revenue). Backed by a private equity sponsor focused on growth and acquisitions, the organization is entering an exciting phase of expansion and is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to help drive financial performance and operational excellence.This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting and finance professional who enjoys building processes, partnering with leadership, and making a direct impact within a growing entrepreneurial environment.What You'll DoAs the Financial Controller, you will serve as the senior finance leader for the organization, partnering closely with the CEO and ownership team.Key responsibilities include:Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAPPrepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projectionsOversee construction accounting activities, including job costing, WIP schedules, and percent-of-completion accountingManage payroll across multiple job sites, wage classifications, and union jurisdictionsEnsure compliance with certified payroll, prevailing wage requirements, union reporting, and fringe benefit contributionsDrive financial analysis, including variance, trend, profitability, and cost analysis to support strategic decision-makingIdentify opportunities to improve processes, controls, reporting, and operational efficiencyOversee compliance with tax filings, government reporting, and other financial regulationsSupport ownership with operational reporting, insurance, benefits administration, and other business initiativesWhat We're Looking For5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experienceStrong construction accounting experience, including WIP and job costingThorough understanding of percent-of-completion accounting and project-based accounting environmentsStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reportingExperience with QuickBooks; ERP experience (Sage, NetSuite, etc.) is a plusStrong analytical, organizational, and leadership skillsExperience in a high-growth or private equity-backed environment preferredHands-on mentality with the ability to build processes and thrive in an entrepreneurial settingAbility to work onsite in Chicago Heights, IL five days per weekCompensation & BenefitsBase Salary + 10% bonusComprehensive health, dental, and retirement benefits (employer paid premium & 4% 401K match)Direct exposure to executive leadership and private equity ownershipOpportunity to play a key role in a rapidly growing organizationReporting Relationship: Reports directly to the CEO.
