Barco Rent A Truck is looking for a Remote Auction Representative to serve as one of our primary boots-on-the-ground presence at wholesale auctions across the country.In this role, you aren't just watching cars cross the block; you are the strategic architect of our auction success. You will manage high-level relationships with auctions, ensure our inventory is positioned for maximum visibility, and act as the final line of defense for vehicle quality.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Placement & Advocacy: Meet regularly with auction management and floor supervisors to negotiate and secure optimal lane placement and run times for Barco Rent A Truck inventory.Vehicle Preview & Quality Control: Perform physical walk-arounds of all scheduled units. You’ll be our "eyes on the ground," verifying that the physical vehicle matches its digital profile.Condition Report (CR) Auditing: Identify and document any damage discrepancies or mechanical issues not captured in the initial Condition Reports. You will alert Barco Rent A Truck management immediately to adjust pricing or descriptions before the sale.Live Sale Representation: "Represent" the fleet on the block during live sales. You will make real-time decisions on bids, manage floor price expectations, and ensure the auctioneer highlights the key selling points of our units.Buyer Relationship Management: Proactively engage with local dealers and high-volume buyers. Your goal is to build a loyal "following" for Barco Rent A Truck lanes by providing transparency and building trust.Post-Sale Reporting: Provide concise feedback to the home office regarding market trends, buyer sentiment, and auction performance.Qualifications & SkillsAutomotive Expertise: Deep knowledge of vehicle systems, bodywork, and the wholesale auction industry (Manheim, America’s Group, etc.). You should be able to spot a sub-par repair or a hidden mechanical tick at a glance.The Art of Negotiation: Proven ability to influence auction personnel and manage buyer energy on the floor.Self-Driven Discipline: Since this is a remote, travel-heavy role, you must be a master of your own schedule and highly communicative via mobile tools and reporting software.Road Ready: Comfort with a "life on the move" lifestyle, including frequent flights, hotel stays, and early morning auction starts.Tech Savvy: Ability to quickly learn and use inventory management software and mobile inspection apps.Experience: Auto Auction Experience is a must.
