Are you with us?!?Ahlstrom's Rhinelander paper mill is HIRING NOW for an Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Apprentice.The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Apprentice works under the guidance of licensed or journey-level E&I technicians to develop the skills needed to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems. This apprenticeship combines hands-on training with classroom or technical instruction to prepare the apprentice for a successful career in industrial electrical and instrumentation work.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the installation, calibration, testing, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipmentSupport troubleshooting of electrical circuits, control systems, PLCs, HMI's, VFDs, power distribution, electric motors, control circuits, and instrumentation.Read and interpret basic electrical schematics, wiring diagramsSafely use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment (multimeters, loop calibrators, etc.)Observe and follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and electrical safety standardsPerform preventive maintenance activities under supervisionMaintain accurate documentation of work performed and training hoursParticipate in classroom, online, or off-site technical training as requiredMaintain a clean and organized work areaProgressively perform more complex tasks as skills and competencies developApprenticeship Learning AreasIndustrial electrical systems (AC/DC, motors, VFI's, VFDs)Instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level devices)Control systems and PLC fundamentalsCalibration techniquesTroubleshooting and diagnosticsElectrical and safety codes (NEC, NFPA, OSHA, site-specific standards)QualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma or GEDBasic math skills (algebra preferred)Mechanical and technical aptitudeWillingness to learn and follow instructionsAbility to work safely in an industrial environmentMust pass post offer physical testing requirementsPreferredEnrolment in or completion of a technical/trade school program: Electromechanical, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical System Maintenance.Basic knowledge of electricity or electronicsPrevious manufacturing, maintenance, or construction experienceFamiliarity with hand and power toolsTraining Commitment* Apprentices must successfully complete all Company paid, required coursework, on-the-job training hours, and evaluations* Attendance and active participation in training is mandatoryWhat we offerVacation benefits begin after successfully completing probationRetention bonus of $1000!Paid on-the-job trainingCompetitive Medical, dental, vision coveragesCompany provided life insurance and short-term disabilityLong-term disability, Critical Illness, & Accident insuranceCompetitive 401(K) plan - eligible to start 1st month following start of employmentStarting wage $30.15 with potential raises every 6 months until JourneymanWork Schedule and Location* Work Schedule: 6a-2p during training, upon completion of apprenticeship candidate must be able to work rotating swing shift, 8-12 hours, including nights, weekends, and Holidays.* Location: 515 W.
