Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician Job Type: Full-time direct hire Job Location: Madison, WI (Onsite) Salary: DoE Work Authorisation: US Citizen/GC Job Description The client, a multi-state leader with a national reputation in quality affordable housing and community development, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for a residential apartment complex in Madison, WI. The ideal candidate is organized, independent, and adaptive, has strong plumbing, electrical, HVAC and carpentry skills and takes pride in maintaining an apartment complex that people are proud to call home. The maintenance tech will be required to be on call evenings and weekends. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE * Prioritizes work orders and completes work assignments to a satisfactory standard. * Inspects all units, buildings, common areas periodically, performing repairs and janitorial services as needed including preparation of units for occupancy. * Performs scheduled maintenance on all equipment based on the manufacturers' recommendations and operating manuals. * Performs minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities using hand tools. * Works with the property manager to obtain bids for larger projects and overseeing subcontractor work at the property. * Implements a plan for preventive maintenance work and for a safe environment. * Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * High school education or equivalent. * Sufficient experience to provide strong working knowledge of maintenance and repair practices and techniques. * Minimum of 3 years of equivalent level experience, preferably in similar setting. * A minimum of one year experience in a customer service-related industry and one year apartment maintenance experience combined. * Personable and trustworthy. * Show concern for a work safety program. * Willing to pitch in and work in areas other than strictly repair maintenance (i.e., janitorial, custodial, gardening, painting, etc.). * Must have or be able to attain/maintain Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT) or similar certification. * Ability to lift 50 pounds. * Provide own hand tools. * Vehicle, insurance and good driving record.
