Remote IBM MQ / ACE Middleware Engineer

Overview In this role you ensure reliable data exchange by administering IBM MQ and supporting ACE environments. You’ll work with developers and infrastructure partners to improve reliability, handle upgrades, and strengthen disaster recovery. The position focuses on middleware sustainment with occasional ACE development support, contributing to a secure, available integration backbone for the mission-critical systems. You'll operate in a remote, team-centric setting and participate in on-call and weekend maintenance. ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain IBM MQ environments (queue managers, queues, channels, connectivity)Support IBM ACE environments (integration nodes/servers and runtime configs)Enhance observability with monitoring and alerts to prevent outagesTroubleshoot messaging, integration, and connectivity issues with cross-team collaborationManage certificates and secure messaging connections (renewals, issue resolution)Plan and execute MQ/ACE upgrades and coordinate server maintenanceSupport disaster recovery planning, testing, and proceduresParticipate in scheduled maintenance and on-call rotationsMaintain clear technical documentation; identify automation opportunitiesProvide occasional ACE development and deployment support using integration architecture knowledge Key requirementsHands-on IBM MQ administration in an enterprise environmentTroubleshooting messaging infrastructure, connectivity, and certificate issuesWorking knowledge of IBM ACE, runtime components, and ACE ToolkitUnderstanding of integration development and architectureExperience with production support, monitoring, upgrades, and infrastructure maintenanceStrong collaboration, documentation, and problem-solving skillsAvailability for weekend maintenance and on-call rotationExperience with scripting, automation, high availability, disaster recovery; ACE development is a pluscollaborationclear communicationownershipIBM MQ administrationIBM ACE (App Connect Enterprise)ACE Toolkit
