Junior Credit Analyst

Role DescriptionWe are seeking a Junior Credit Analyst to support our Credit Department in a full-time, on-site role located at our Main Branch on Coral Way. This is an entry-level role intended to support commercial loan analysis and ensure timely and accurate credit review.The Analyst will be responsible for performing commercial credit analysis for new and/or renewed loans, as well as conducting periodic annual reviews on existing borrowers. This role reports directly to the Chief Credit Officer and works closely with the Credit, Accounting, and Lending teams to ensure accuracy and integrity in the bank’s credit risk reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport lenders with financial and credit analysis, including collateral analysis, ratio calculations, and underwriting support for commercial loan requests.Analyze borrower financial information such as balance sheets, income statements, tax returns, projections, rent rolls, and leases to evaluate creditworthiness and repayment capacity.Conduct industry and market research to assess trends that may impact prospective or existing clients’ businesses.Evaluate collateral adequacy and assist with due diligence by coordinating with appraisers, reviewers, engineers, contractors, and other third-party professionals.Prepare detailed written credit memoranda for loan approvals, ensuring adherence to credit policy and documenting any policy exceptions with appropriate mitigants.Assist in evaluating and recommending loan terms, covenants, and conditions to ensure compliance with credit policy.Provide guidance to lending partners regarding credit policy requirements and underwriting standards.Prepare Board and management reports, including Watch List, Classified Assets, Commercial Past Due, Loan Exceptions, Overdraft/Charge-Off, and OREO reports.Support loan monitoring and annual review processes by tracking updated borrower financial information and coordinating with loan officers to obtain required documentation.Work with the Chief Credit Officer to reconcile internal exception reports and ensure consistency between reporting and financial documentation tracking.Assist with coordination of external audits and provide support for internal credit department reviews.Provide backup support to credit team members and assist with additional projects or responsibilities during periods of increased workload.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related fieldMinimum 1-2 years of commercial banking experience, including credit analysis and/or loan reviewStrong knowledge of commercial, construction, real estate, and consumer loan analysisExperience with financial data spreading and internal credit rating systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Strong analytical, communication, and time management skillsBilingual preferable (English and Spanish)EOE/ AA / M/F / D/V / DFWP
