When you partner with Oliver, you partner with success.Oliver Inc. is seeking a hands-on Controller, Operations Finance to serve as the financial leader and business partner for our Chatsworth operation. This is not a traditional accounting role. While ownership of the accounting function, financial reporting, and month-end close remains critical, we are looking for a finance leader who can help transform the business, improve processes, drive operational performance, and build scalable financial infrastructure following a recent acquisition.The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with financial analysis, operational business acumen, and process improvement experience. This Controller, Operations Finance will work closely with Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and Corporate Finance to improve decision-making, establish reporting disciplines, and create a foundation for future growth. If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, solving problems, challenging the status quo, and helping organizations mature their financial and operational processes, we'd like to meet you.What You'll Be Doing as Our Controller, Operations Finance Financial Leadership & AccountingLead all monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.Review and approve account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analyses prepared by the Senior Staff Accountant, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.Manage and develop one Staff Accountant.Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Partner with Corporate Finance on reporting requirements and financial initiatives.Business Partnership & Operational FinanceServe as a key business partner to site leadership, providing financial insights and recommendations that support operational and commercial decision-making.Support Operations and Sales leadership through financial modeling, analysis, and scenario planning.Develop meaningful KPIs and reporting tools that improve visibility into business performance.Analyze trends related to revenue, margins, labor, inventory, productivity, and operational efficiency.Translate financial data into actionable business recommendations.Process Improvement & TransformationIdentify opportunities to streamline accounting, finance, and operational work flows.Establish scalable processes, controls, and reporting structures to support business growth.Help build the financial and operational infrastructure of the organization following its 2024 acquisition.Collaborate cross-functionally to improve communication, reporting accuracy, and decision-making.Support future ERP and systems enhancement initiatives as needed.What You BringBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.Manufacturing, packaging, printing, labels, or industrial experience strongly preferred.Strong understanding of financial accounting, cost accounting, and operational finance.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis.Experience supporting operational leadership teams and influencing business decisions.Demonstrated success improving processes and implementing controls in growing or evolving organizations.Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with evolving priorities.Success in This RoleWithin the first 12 months, you will:Establish credibility as a trusted advisor to site leadership.Improve financial visibility and reporting across the operation.Strengthen accounting processes and internal controls.Develop meaningful operational KPIs and management reporting.Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and decision-making.Help create the financial foundation necessary to support future growth.
