We focus on businesses operating within the built environment, including industries such as maintenance, manufacturing, trucking, and engineering.Position OverviewWe are seeking a high-performing professional with 3–5 years of experience in management consulting, operations, procurement, or pricing analytics to join our team as Manager of Commercial & Operational Excellence. This role will work directly with senior leadership to identify and implement initiatives that improve commercial and operational efficiency, purchasing effectiveness, inventory optimization, gross margin, and pricing discipline across the organization. The position combines data-driven analysis with hands-on implementation in a fast-paced distribution environment. The ideal candidate has experience in pricing strategy, procurement optimization, or operational improvement, and enjoys working closely with frontline operators to deliver measurable results.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational ImprovementLead initiatives to improve inventory management, working capital, and inventory turnsAnalyze subsidiary processes and identify opportunities to streamline order-to-cash workflowsSupport implementation of systems and tools that improve operational visibilityDevelop standardized operating procedures across the company networkProcurement & Supplier ManagementIdentify opportunities to improve vendor negotiations, rebates, volume discounts, and purchasing programs. (Research various buying groups for waterworks, wastewater, and/or plumbing supply houses)Support strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier rationalizationPartner with purchasing teams to improve cost of goods and purchasing disciplineEvaluate supplier performance and opportunities for program optimizationPricing & Commercial ExcellenceAnalyze pricing performance and identify opportunities to improve gross margin and price realizationDevelop customer and product segmentation and prioritization strategiesWork with management to identify and implement commercial best practicesImplement pricing tools, policies, and discount governance across the organizationSupport bid pricing strategies for municipal and contractor customersBuild dashboards and reporting to monitor margin performanceCross-Functional ExecutionPartner with company leaders, sales leaders, and operations teams to implement improvementsTranslate analytical insights into practical operational changesSupport leadership with strategic initiatives and performance trackingQualificationsRequired2-5 years of experience in management consulting, operations consulting, engineering, procurement, sales operations, or supply chain strategyStrong analytical skills with experience working with large datasets and operational metricsDemonstrated experience leading process improvement or cost optimization initiativesAbility to communicate insights clearly to both executives and frontline operatorsAdvanced proficiency in Excel and data analysisExperience using various AI tools to analyze and develop new methods or procedures to optimize performancePreferredExperience in industrial distribution, engineering, manufacturing, or supply chainExposure to operational transformation, procurement, or pricing strategyExperience with ERP systems, pricing tools, or business intelligence platformsMBA or advanced degreeWhat Success Looks LikeWithin the first 12–18 months, the successful candidate will help deliver measurable improvements in:Gross margin expansion through improved pricing disciplineImplementation of best in class processes across the organizationImproved inventory turns and working capital managementProcurement savings through vendor negotiations and program optimizationCompensation Range: $100K - $300K
