This is a true leadership role built for someone who wants to lead people, drive performance, and build a high-functioning operation-not just manage projects.You will step in as the leader of the production department, responsible for developing Project Managers, strengthening systems, and ensuring every project runs with clarity, accountability, and control. Your focus is simple: deliver consistent results across schedule, budget, and quality while building a team that can operate at a high level without constant oversight.This is an opportunity to shape how the company operates, scales, and delivers, while making a measurable impact on both performance and culture.This is an on-site leadership role requiring a balance of office-based work and regular presence across active job sites.What You'll OwnProduction LeadershipFull accountability for all active projects across IL and WILead and develop Project Managers to operate at a high levelOwn execution across schedule, budget, and qualityTeam DevelopmentCoach, train, and elevate our Production team into independent operatorsDrive performance through scorecards, weekly reviews, and field coachingBuild a culture of accountability without compromising moraleSchedule & ExecutionOwn and manage the master production scheduleEnsure every project starts with a clear, executable planMaintain high schedule adherence across all jobsFinancial & Job Cost PerformanceProtect gross profit and identify variances earlyEnforce strict change order disciplinePartner with estimating to continuously improve accuracyOperational SystemsStrengthen SOPs, workflows, and production systemsEnsure consistent use of Buildertrend / JobTreadBuild scalable infrastructure for growthField & Trade Partner OversightMaintain and develop strong subcontractor relationshipsEnforce quality, professionalism, and accountability in the fieldEnsure job sites meet company standards at every phaseWhat Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)Production operates independently from ownership85%+ of projects on or ahead of schedule<2% variance in job gross profitProduction Team consistently hitting performance scorecardsClean, predictable project closeouts within 21 daysQualificationsRequired10+ years in residential construction (remodeling, design-build, or custom homes)3+ years in a true leadership role (Director, Production Manager, Ops Leader)Proven experience leading and developing Project ManagersStrong command of scheduling, budgeting, and construction sequencingAbility to operate independently with full ownershipPreferredDesign-build or high-end remodeling experienceFamiliarity with Buildertrend, JobTread, or similar systemsExperience scaling a construction companyAbility to actively manage job sites and work directly with field teamsCompensation & BenefitsBase Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 (depending on experience)Quarterly Performance Bonus: Based on defined operational metrics (targeting total compensation of $130,000 - $160,000+)Company vehicleHealth insurance, PTO, and additional benefits available (details provided during offer stage)How to ApplyIf you are looking for autonomy, accountability, and the chance to shape a company's future, this is the seat.
