Assistant Controller (Big 4 Required)We are partnering with a large, multi-location organization to identify an Assistant Controller to join their corporate accounting team. This is a newly created, high-visibility role reporting directly to the Corporate Controller and working closely with senior leadership.This position is ideal for a Big 4–trained accounting professional currently at the Manager level who is looking to transition into a hands-on industry role with strong mentorship and long-term growth potential.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timelinessPrepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAPAnalyze account balances, investigate variances, and ensure integrity of financial dataServe as a key liaison for external auditors, including coordination of audit requests and preparation of supporting documentationAssist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of internal controls and accounting policiesMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including fixed assets and related schedulesPartner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to support reporting and operational needsContribute to process improvements and special projects as the organization continues to growQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or related fieldCPA requiredCurrent Big 4 experience required (Manager level strongly preferred)6–10 years of progressive accounting and audit experienceStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reportingExperience working directly with external auditorsHighly detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skillsAbility to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentWhat This Role OffersDirect exposure to Corporate Controller and senior leadershipClear path for growth into more senior accounting leadership rolesOpportunity to be part of a growing, acquisition-driven platformHands-on ownership of key accounting and reporting functionsCollaborative, team-oriented environment with strong mentorshipAbout NextPlay JobsAt NextPlay Jobs, we believe great recruiting is personal, not transactional.
