Technical Accounting Manager

About the CompanyWe are partnering with a high-growth, multi-entity organization seeking an Accounting Manager to join its corporate finance team. This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the Controller with frequent exposure to senior leadership, including the CFO and investment partners.About the RoleThis position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys technical accounting challenges, and wants direct involvement in M&A activity and process development.ResponsibilitiesLead and support technical accounting areas including revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), business combinations (ASC 805), and other complex accounting topicsPlay a key role in M&A transactions, including deal support, purchase accounting, and post-close integrationOwn and support portions of the month-end close process within a 10-business-day close cycleManage and maintain key balance sheet areas including revenue, intercompany, debt, and consolidationsPartner with external auditors and support audit requests and technical documentationHelp build, refine, and scale accounting policies, processes, and controlsCollaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and external stakeholders Qualifications5+ years of accounting experience, including 2–3+ years in public accounting (audit or tax required) Required SkillsStrong technical accounting foundation with ASC 606 as a top priorityHands-on experience with M&A (purchase accounting, deal support, or transaction advisory exposure strongly preferred)Experience with multi-entity or consolidated accounting environmentsStrong systems exposure; Workday experience is a plus (recent implementation experience is ideal)CPA preferred but not required Preferred SkillsWhy This RoleDirect exposure to the Controller, CFO, and investment leadership teamHighly visible, cross-functional role with real ownershipOpportunity to build processes and create structure in a scaling environmentBroad technical accounting scope—no siloed responsibilitiesClear long-term growth potential into leadership roles (Controller track) Pay range and compensation packageLocation: Chicago (Loop – hybrid 2 days/week)Compensation: Up to $130K base + ~10% bonusSchedule: Hybrid Equal Opportunity StatementWe are committed to diversity and inclusivity.
