Job Description Position Title: Aviation InspectorFLSA Status: ExemptAt iFly USA and Eagle, our mission is to provide a seamless integration of safety, legality, and efficiency, bridging international aviation standards and creating unparalleled opportunities for the students of our flight school.Job SummaryResponsible for ensuring that our school’s aircraft are maintained and repaired to the highest standards of safety and performance. The AI must possess technical expertise and meticulous attention to detail. Daily responsibilities focus on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and identifying any needed repairs or updates to our fleet of aircraft, its components and systems.Principal Accountabilities· Performs regular maintenance checks on aircraft airframes and powerplants· Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems in aircraft systems· Conducts inspections to ensure that maintenance and operational standards are maintained and updates all scheduled maintenance and repair work logs· Ensures compliance with all FAA regulations and safety standards· Tests new equipment on aircraft and inspects completed work to verify that maintenance meets standards and regulations· Collaborates with team members to ensure clear communications regarding aircraft maintenance updates and progress· Conducts pre-flight and post-flight inspections· Uses diagnostic equipment to assess aircraft health and performance· Responds to aircraft mechanical issues during flight emergencies· Keeps current with industry advancements and technical updatesQualifications· Valid A&P Technician Certification with Inspection Authorization (IA) and high school diploma or equivalent· Completion of an FAA-approved aviation maintenance technician school· 3+ years’ experience working with aircraft maintenance and repair· Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and deep experience with aviation diagnostic tools and equipment· Familiarity with FAA regulations and safety standards· Advanced certifications in specific aircraft models or systems· Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail· Ability to work under pressure and in time-sensitive situations· Good communication and teamwork skills· Expectation to continue education and training in aviation technology· Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics· Ability to pass a background check and drug screening· Physical fitness to perform the duties required· Basic computer skills for record-keeping and diagnostics· Ability to work varied hours, including nights and weekends· Effective communication skills· Commitment to safety and adherence to regulatory standardsAt iFly USA, we are redefining aviation education.
