Aircraft Mechanic I

Job Description The Aircraft Mechanic I performs organizational-level aircraft maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair in support of DHS/USCG aviation operations. This position ensures aircraft readiness, mission availability, and compliance with applicable technical publications, safety directives, and maintenance standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform organizational and intermediate-level aircraft maintenance and inspectionsConduct troubleshooting and repair of airframe, powerplant, and related systemsExecute scheduled maintenance actions in accordance with technical manualsComplete maintenance documentation in electronic or paper-based systemsSupport pre-flight, post-flight, and special inspectionsAssist in parts removal/installation and system functional checksComply with OSHA, safety, and environmental regulationsMaintain tool control and FOD prevention proceduresSupport mission surge and operational tempo requirementsQualificationsFAA A&P Certificate preferred (or military equivalent)2–4 years aviation maintenance experienceExperience working within structured maintenance programsPreferred experience working on USCG aircraftAbility to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagramsAbility to obtain/maintain required security clearanceAbility to work shift schedules and in flight line environmentsWhy VLincAt VLinc, we operate as a mission-aligned team supporting critical U.S. defense and national security initiatives.
