Mechanical Design EngineerLocation: Memphis, TN onsite - relocation assistance offered! Salary: 100k-125k DOE base Position OverviewWe are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop and refine commercial heating products, including commercial water heaters and heat pumps. The role is responsible for taking concepts through detailed design, prototyping, testing, and production release while ensuring compliance with regulated environments. The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical design skills with experience in sheet metal fabrication, plastic component design, 3D CAD modeling (Autodesk Inventor), and familiarity with electrical/electronic circuit design. Experience in the commercial appliance industry is a strong plus.Key ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical design activities for commercial water heaters, heat pumps, and related appliance components from concept through production.Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Inventor, including assemblies, part files, and manufacturing drawings.Design sheet metal parts and assemblies with consideration for fabrication processes, tolerances, and cost-effective manufacturing.Develop plastic component designs, including material selection, molding considerations, and part consolidation opportunities.Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate electrical/electronic circuits, controls, and harnessing into mechanical designs.Prepare bills of materials (BOMs), part specifications, and supplier documentation; support vendor selection and quotations.Support prototyping, test planning, and validation activities; interpret test data and iterate designs based on results.Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements in regulated environments; prepare documentation for approvals.Troubleshoot field and manufacturing issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve product reliability and serviceability.Drive design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and cost reduction initiatives across product lines.QualificationsBachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.5+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably with commercial appliances, HVAC, or water heating systems.Proven experience with 3D CAD modeling and drafting in Autodesk Inventor; strong modeling, assembly, and drawing skills.Hands-on experience with sheet metal design and fabrication methods, including press braking, welding, and fastening.Experience designing plastic components with knowledge of injection molding and material selection.Familiarity with electrical/electronic circuit design concepts and experience working collaboratively with electrical engineers.Experience working in regulated environments and preparing documentation for compliance with industry standards and certifications.Benefits  Email Your Resume In Word ToKaty.Bruce@CyberCoders.comLooking forward to receiving your resume through our website and going over the position with you.
