Civil Quality Technician - Utility Scale Solar

SummaryThe Civil Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting and verifying the quality of civil construction work on solar energy projects. This role ensures that all site preparation, foundations, and structural components meet design specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.Responsibilities• Perform routine inspections of civil works including grading, trenching, concrete foundations, access roads, and structural supports.• Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports. Submit daily and weekly quality reports to the Quality Manager.• Ensure construction activities comply with project specifications, engineering drawings, and applicable codes and standards.• Assist with field testing such as soil compaction, concrete strength, and material verification.• Identify quality issues and work with site supervisors and contractors to implement corrective actions.• Monitor adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations during civil construction activities.• Collaborate with engineering, construction, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth project execution.Qualifications• Associate's degree or technical certification in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or related field.• 2–4 years of experience in civil construction quality control, preferably in solar or renewable energy projects.• Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, inspection tools, and testing methods.• Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings and specifications.• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software.Preferred Skills• Experience with utility-scale solar projects.• Knowledge of ASTM standards and local building codes.• Certification in construction quality, such as ACI, NICET, or equivalent.• Ability to work independently and travel to remote project sites.
