Dining Experience Supervisor Department: Dining Services Reports To: Director of Dining Experience Employment Type: Full-time, 10-month Position Summary: The P.M. Dining Experience Supervisor oversees afternoon and evening operations across assigned campus dining venues, ensuring smooth lunch to dinner transitions, high quality service, and proper closing procedures. This role leads the closing team, coordinates production, supports staff, and ensures the operation is fully prepared for the next day. This position is benefits eligible for all the College's superb benefits, including tuition remission for certain individuals. Key Responsibilities: Afternoon & Evening Operations Oversee lunch, late afternoon, and dinner service across cafeteria, Cat's Pause, LAB, or assigned venues. Ensure stations remain stocked, clean, and visually appealing throughout service. Monitor food quality, portioning, and presentation during peak P.M. periods. Coordinate menu transitions between meal periods, including restocking and production adjustments. Staff Leadership & Coordination Supervise P.M. staff and student workers, ensuring proper coverage and productivity. Assign stations, tasks, and break schedules for the afternoon/evening shift. Provide coaching, support, and hands on help during peak service times. Assist with onboarding and training of new team members. Food Quality, Safety & Allergen Compliance Maintain strict adherence to HACCP, sanitation, and campus safety protocols. Ensure proper labeling, temperature logs, and crosscontact prevention. Conduct end of day sanitation checks and verify completion of cleaning tasks. Customer Service & Campus Engagement Create a welcoming, positive environment for students, faculty, and staff. Address customer questions or concerns promptly and professionally. Model excellent service standards for all team members. Inventory, Prep, & Production Support Monitor P.M. inventory levels and communicate shortages or overproduction. Support receiving, storage, rotation, and waste tracking procedures. Oversee next day prep, ensuring production sheets and prep lists are followed. Coordinate with the A.M. Supervisor to ensure smooth handoff between shifts. Closing Procedures Ensure all stations and venues are properly cleaned, sanitized, stocked, and secrued. Verify equipment is shut down, locked, or stored according to protocol. Complete closing checklists and report any issues requiring follow up. Confirm accurate cash handling and POS closing procedures. Administrative Responsibilities Complete shift reports, incident logs, and attendance records. Communicate menu changes, staffing needs, and operational updates to management. Support scheduling by reporting staffing gaps or performance concerns. Ensure compliance with meal plan and student ID card procedures at POS stations. Qualifications: Experience in food service, hospitality, or institutional dining (college/university preferred). Prior supervisory or leadworker experience strongly encouraged. Strong understanding of food safety and allergen protocols. Excellent communication, organization, and problem solving skills. Ability to lead early morning teams and manage multiple priorities. ServSafe certification or equivalent (or ability to obtain). Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extend periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
