Data Architect - Databricks

Data Architect (with Databricks experience) We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead the design and evolution of modern cloud data platforms. This role focuses on enterprise data architecture, modelling, governance, and strategic platform design, with Databricks as a key delivery component.Key Responsibilities:Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture, ensuring alignment with business and analytics strategyDesign data models, integration patterns, and warehouse/lakehouse structures across cloud environmentsProvide architectural oversight for solutions built on Databricks, ensuring best‑practice use of the platformGuide the design of ETL/ELT patterns and scalable data processing frameworksEstablish and enforce data governance, security, quality, and lifecycle management standardsCollaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to translate requirements into robust data solutionsSupport the modernisation and migration of legacy data platforms to cloud‑native architecturesContribute to data strategy, architectural roadmaps, and long‑term platform evolutionKey Skills:Strong background in data architecture, data modelling, and analytical platform designExperience working with Databricks within a broader cloud data ecosystemStrong SQL and Python skills for prototyping and architectural validationExperience designing lakehouse or warehouse architecturesSolid understanding of Azure or AWS data services (e.g., ADLS/S3, Data Factory/Glue, Synapse/Redshift)Strong knowledge of data governance, security, lineage, and complianceAbility to work effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholdersExperience:Proven experience delivering enterprise‑scale data platformsExperience modernising or migrating legacy data environmentsStrong understanding of analytics, BI, and reporting requirementsExperience working in Agile, cross‑functional teamsAbility to define architecture standards, patterns, and strategic direction
