Weld Engineer

Summary: The responsibility of the Weld Engineer is to identify areas of improvement in weld processes and procedures and develop, train, and document updated processes and procedures to ensure the success of the weld team. Responsibilities & Duties:Investigate welding related issues to improve product performance and increase productivityDesign welded parts, assemblies and structuresDevelop repair procedures and assess flaws to determine the fitness-for-service of structuresDevelop standards, materials, weld joint design, and welding processesDevelop welding process procedure qualification, supplier qualification, and product testingTroubleshoot welding problems and provide corrective solutionsLead welding projectsAnalyze engineering designs for welding requirementsConduct failure analysis and cause analysis on weld issuesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.RequirementsEducation and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or one to three years related experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Essential Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
