RN Nurse Manager – Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care

About the Role:
You will manage a fast-paced Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing unit specializing in post-acute recovery. Your patients are among the most clinically complex and rewarding to care for — recovering from surgery, stroke, cardiac events, and serious medical conditions, including high-volume wound care and ambulatory rehabilitation.
What You'll Do
Lead, mentor, and develop the Assistant Nurse Manager and frontline nursing team — serving as a visible, hands-on clinical resource
Build and sustain a culture of psychological safety, accountability, and clinical excellence
Oversee staffing, daily workflows, and unit operations with a focus on efficiency and fiscal responsibility
Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CARF, CMS, and National Patient Safety Goals; drive quality improvement and monitor outcomes
Coach and evaluate RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and support staff; champion professional development and internal advancement
Partner with physicians, therapists, case managers, social workers, and families to deliver coordinated, person-centered care
Qualifications:
Graduate of a CCNE-accredited nursing program
Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
National certification (GERO-BC, RN-BC, CRRN, or equivalent) strongly preferred
5–7 years of nursing experience in Long-Term Care (LTC), Skilled Nursing, or Rehabilitation, including at least 2 years in a formal leadership or charge role
Active Maryland RN license (required)
BLS/CPR certification through the American Heart Association
Strong working knowledge of geriatric, subacute, rehabilitation, or memory care nursing practice
