This position is ineligible for health, dental, and life insurance benefits through Chicago State University. The CSU Philosophy Program invites applications for a part-time, non-tenure track lecturer for undergraduate courses in philosophy. Primary duties include teaching 1 or 2 classes during a 4.5 month semester. Faculty members are expected to teach, develop syllabi and teaching materials related to courses taught, and hold regular office hours. Faculty are hired, evaluated, and retained on the basis of conditions covered in the Union Contract. Required Education MA in philosophy is required (Ph.D. in philosophy or ABD status in a philosophy program preferred). Degree must be from an accredited institution. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to work effectively with students of various ages and of differing competencies and non-traditional backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications Experience in teaching college courses, an ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population, strong organizational skills, and experience using instructional technology.
