By maintaining independence, Sierra Capital emphasizes diligence, trust, and objectivity to help families build a secure financial future across generations.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site Chief Investment Officer role based in Miami, FL. The CIO will lead Sierra Capital's investment strategy, portfolio construction, and investment management initiatives across traditional and alternative asset classes.The CIO will be responsible for guiding strategic asset allocation, overseeing investment decision-making, conducting market research, and identifying compelling opportunities across public markets, private markets, alternative investments, fixed income, equities, real estate, private equity, private credit, hedge funds, and other institutional strategies.This individual will play a key leadership role in manager due diligence, investment committee preparation, portfolio oversight, and long-term investment planning for ultra high net worth families, family office clients, foundations, endowments, pensions, and other institutional relationships.The ideal candidate will bring a strong finance background, experience working in or with family offices, and the ability to develop sophisticated investment solutions tailored to each client's objectives, risk profile, liquidity needs, and long-term financial goals.QualificationsCFA designation preferredStrong expertise in investment strategy, portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment managementProven experience evaluating traditional and alternative investments across multiple asset classesDeep understanding of manager due diligence, investment selection, portfolio monitoring, and risk assessmentExperience working with ultra high net worth families, family offices, foundations, endowments, pensions, or institutional clients7 to 10+ years of relevant investment experience, preferably within a family office, RIA, OCIO platform, endowment, pension, foundation, or institutional investment firmStrong knowledge of alternative investments, including private equity, private credit, hedge funds, real estate, and other private market strategiesAbility to lead investment committee discussions, present market views, and communicate complex investment concepts clearlyStrategic and analytical thinker with sound judgment, strong decision-making skills, and a results-oriented mindsetExceptional leadership, communication, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement abilitiesBachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related fieldMBA or advanced finance-related degree a plusMust be able to work in person from the Miami office
