We believe in providing our new associates with intensive hands on training and long-term career growth opportunities from within.Anne Arundel Dermatology owns and operates several dermatology clinics within the Knoxville region including Dermatology Associates of Knoxville, Knoxville Dermatology Group and East TN Dermatology.ResponsibilitiesEast TN Dermatology is looking for a Medical Assistant for our triage team. This position supports several of our providers with administrative aspects of the back office including scheduling of procedures, reviewing of pathology lab results and patient education.Triage Medical Assistant Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Timely follow-up and response to patient questions, results and inbox tasksPrepare documents and notes for patients and physiciansProvide clinical support by following up on requests from providersMaintain a high degree of professionalism and compassion in sensitive discussionScheduling of surgeries and/or procedures and educating the patient on what to expectNotifying patients of pathology lab testing results and delivery of follow up instructionPatient education regarding medicationsOther duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.QualificationsHigh School Graduate or GED required.Completion of a Medical Assistant Program, Certified Nursing Assistant program or completion of a bachelor's degree program in the pre-med or pre-physician assistant track preferred.CPR certified preferred.1-2 years of recent experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or other clinical patient care experience preferred.Previous experience in Dermatology is preferred.Required Skills/AbilitiesAble to triage patient problems.Be familiar with and compliant OSHA/HIPAA, infection control & Blood Borne Pathogen Standards.Experience measuring vital signs and preparing patients for appointments.Experience administering injections.Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 codes.Knowledge of office financial policies.Basic computer skills and experience in EMR utilization.Able to operate standard office equipment (i.e. computer, fax, copier, scanner, etc)Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Fluent in EnglishAbility to function well in a high-paced and at times stressfulAbility to work in an effective, cooperative, and courteous manner with staff, patients, and visitors.Must be able to travel to satellite offices as neededAbility to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a teamAbility to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction.Ability to spell, sort and file materials correctly alphabetically or numerically.Licensure/Certifications/EducationFull time employees (defined as regularly working at least 30 hours per week) are eligible for the following benefits:Medical, Dental & Vision insurance effective 1st of the month after date of startShort-term and long-term disability, Voluntary life (employee, spouse, and child), Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity Effective the 1st of the month following date of hireCompany provided Basic Life/AD&D insurancePaid time offPaid holidaysRetirement Savings accountEmployee discount on cosmetic services and products
