Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, this hands-on role will lead a team of two accounting professionals while playing a key role in the company's continued growth. The ideal candidate will possess progressive accounting leadership experience within the manufacturing industry and a proven ability to drive process improvements, financial accuracy, and team performance.Perks:High visibility positionCareer-growth opportunitiesCasual work environmentResponsibilities:Lead the full close cycle on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and consolidated reporting packages delivered on a structured reporting timeline.Prepare and review internal financial reporting, variance analysis, and management reporting packages, ensuring results are explained and interpreted, not just reported.Own and maintain the SOX-compliant internal control environment, including documentation, testing support, and remediation of control deficiencies to ensure ongoing audit readiness.Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external audit activities, coordinating requests, resolving findings, and ensuring timely closure of audit issues.Oversee standard costing processes, including cost builds, annual updates, and ongoing maintenance of accurate product costing across SKUs and BOM structures.Ensure integrity of inventory and work-in-process accounting, including valuation, cycle counts, physical inventory execution, reserves, and general ledger reconciliation.Analyze manufacturing, labor, overhead, purchasing, and margin variances, identifying root causes and partnering with operations to drive corrective actions and profitability improvements.Act as a finance business partner to operations and leadership, supporting budgeting, forecasting, and AOP planning while translating financial results into actionable business decisions.Drive process improvement and automation initiatives, leveraging technology and emerging tools (including AI where applicable) to streamline reporting, accelerate close, and improve information flow.Lead and develop the accounting team while strengthening organizational scalability, and evaluate capital investments and post-implementation results while communicating financial insights clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related degreeManufacturing industry experience is required.Progressive accounting leadership experience is required.CPA license is highly desirable.Knowledge of major accounting software packages for general ledger accountingThorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams, business leaders, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and resultsEmail your word document resume to sara.m@conexusrecruiting.com and reference the subject as Assistant Controller
