Senior Project Engineer - Commercial Construction

You’ll take ownership of complex scopes, lead technical coordination, and help guide Project Engineers and interns. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, mentoring others, and taking pride in delivering high-quality work.You’ll be involved in every phase of the project, from start-up through closeout, with increasing responsibility for systems coordination, cost management, and technical execution.What You’ll DoCoordinate and lead technical and administrative project functions from start-up through closeoutManage complex building systems coordination, including submittals, RFIs, clash detection, and design reviewsSupport bid package development, schedule management, change management, and cost reportingOversee subcontractor compliance, documentation, and quality control processesPartner with Project Managers and Superintendents on project planning and executionMaintain strong communication with owners, design teams, and trade partnersLead jobsite engineering activities and participate in project meetingsTrack budgets, costs, and forecasting to support financial performanceCoach, mentor, and support Project Engineers and internsPromote and model strong safety practices and support Absher’s safety cultureEnsure project documentation and closeout materials are accurate and completeWhy You’ll Be SuccessfulYou bring strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, and a calm, steady approach to problem-solving. You balance attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture, and you take pride in doing things the right way.Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)4+ years of relevant construction experienceStrong understanding of construction means and methodsProficiency with project management and construction software platformsAbility to read and interpret plans, specifications, and submittalsExperience coordinating complex building systemsDemonstrated ability to mentor and support junior staffStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organization, time management, and follow-throughDependable, professional, and comfortable handling confidential informationWork Environment & Physical RequirementsWork is primarily based in a jobsite trailer with frequent visits to active construction areas. The role requires regular movement throughout the site, use of standard PPE, and the ability to work in varying weather and site conditions. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds is required, with heavier lifting supported as needed.Absher is a Federal Contractor.
