Learning Engagement Designer

The Learning Engagement Designer, Executive Education, is responsible for designing and developing compelling learning engagements for business leaders and professionals in both in-person and online formats. In addition to creating tailored learning programs, this position involves actively contributing to proposal development and conducting client needs analysis to ensure that learning solutions meet client requirements and align with strategic objectives. The incumbent also oversees partnerships with external learning providers to deliver seamless, high-quality educational experiences.About the Work UnitThe Owen Graduate School of Management is a professional school at Vanderbilt University, located in Nashville, Tennessee. Our top priority is exceeding our clients’ expectations for learning impact, value, and relevance.Please Note: This position is deemed flexible/hybrid, expected to work at OGSM at least 3 days a week.Duties and Responsibilities- Designs and oversees the development of educational programs, including learning journeys and standalone courses, customized to meet the needs of executives and professionals while aligning with current business trends and organizational goals.- Actively participates in proposal creation by conducting comprehensive needs assessments and analyzing client requirements to develop tailored learning solutions.- Manages existing partnerships with external learning providers and assists with strategically implementing new relationships with external learning providers to ensure exceptional delivery and learner satisfaction.- Collaborates with faculty, subject matter experts, instructional technologists, and external learning partners to create compelling content that utilizes best practices in adult learning theory.- Analyzes evaluations measuring the effectiveness of all Executive Education learning engagements and offerings and makes iterative improvements based on learner feedback and learning analytics.- Manages multiple project timelines to guarantee the timely development of educational materials that meet high-quality standards.- Provides guidance, training, and support to faculty, staff, and external partners on effective teaching practices, learning methodologies, and educational technology best practices.Supervisory RelationshipsThis position does not have supervisory responsibility. This position reports directly to the Managing Director, Executive Education.QualificationsA bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education is required, and an advanced degree is preferred.- Degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Adult Education, or a related field is preferred- Minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional design, preferably developing training programs for business leaders within higher education or corporate training environments.- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design theories, and online education strategies.- Ability to innovate and think creatively about education in a rapidly changing business landscape.- Proficiency in utilizing learning management systems (LMS) and digital learning tools, with expertise in multimedia production for engaging online content.- Demonstrated ability to manage educational program relationships with external partners effectively.- Excellent project management skills, including the capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently.- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.Commitment to Equity, Diversity, and InclusionAt Vanderbilt University, we are intentional about and assume accountability for fostering advancement and respect for equity, diversity, and inclusion for all students, faculty, and staff.
