Senior Plant Accountant / Senior Cost Accountant (Manufacturing

We are seeking a Senior Plant Accountant with strong manufacturing cost accounting experience to support plant operations, inventory accuracy, and financial reporting. This role is ideal for an accountant who understands the connection between the plant floor and the general ledger, and who has hands-on experience with standard costing, inventory controls, variance analysis, and cycle counting.This position will partner closely with operations, supply chain, and leadership to improve inventory accuracy, analyze manufacturing performance, and support sound financial decision-making.What You’ll DoOwn plant accounting activities related to inventory, cost accounting, and month-end closePrepare and analyze manufacturing cost reports, including labor, material, and overheadMonitor and explain purchase price, usage, labor, and production variancesSupport and help lead the cycle count program, including reconciliation, root cause analysis, and corrective actionsPartner with operations to improve inventory accuracy, controls, and reportingReconcile inventory and manufacturing accounts and ensure alignment between physical inventory and ERP recordsAssist with standard cost updates, cost rolls, and BOM/routing reviewSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for plant-related accountsParticipate in physical inventories and audit support as neededIdentify opportunities to strengthen internal controls and improve plant finance processesProvide financial insight to plant leadership regarding performance, waste, efficiency, and cost driversWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance5+ years of accounting experience with at least 3+ years in manufacturing and cost accountingStrong experience in plant accounting, inventory accounting, and cost accountingRequired: hands-on cycle counting experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience with:standard costinginventory reconciliationvariance analysismonth-end closephysical inventoryAbility to work cross-functionally with plant operations and supply chain teamsStrong Excel skills and experience working in an ERP systemHigh attention to detail with a process-improvement mindsetPreferred QualificationsCPA or CMA is a plusExperience in a multi-site or high-volume manufacturing environmentExperience supporting audits and internal controlsFamiliarity with BOMs, routings, and inventory movement within an ERPIdeal BackgroundCandidates who have been successful in this type of role often come from titles such as:Senior Cost AccountantPlant AccountantManufacturing AccountantInventory AccountantCost Accounting ManagerWhy Join UsHigh-impact role supporting plant leadership and operationsOpportunity to improve processes and influence decision-makingCollaborative environment with visibility across finance and manufacturingStable organization with a strong operational focusRequired ExperienceTo be considered, candidates should have direct manufacturing cost accounting experience and cycle counting experience.
