Interim Corporate Controller (3PL / Logistics)Location: Chicago, IL (approx. 50% onsite, flexibility available)Engagement Type: Interim / ContractWe’re partnering with a growing third-party logistics (3PL) provider seeking an Interim Corporate Controller to step into a key leadership role and bring structure to a multi-entity, high-volume accounting environment.The company provides warehousing, fulfillment, transportation, and value-added logistics services, and has scaled through acquisition. With a lean finance team in place, this role will sit between the CFO and site-level accountants to drive consistency, improve close processes, and enhance reporting across locations.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and coordinate month-end close across multiple locations/entitiesStandardize and improve financial reporting and close processesPartner with site-level accountants to ensure consistency, accuracy, and timelinessReview reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statementsSupport consolidation efforts across acquired businessesIdentify and implement process improvements within a growing, evolving organizationServe as a key liaison between operations and financeIdeal BackgroundProven Controller / Assistant Controller experience in a multi-entity environmentExperience in high-volume transactional businesses (logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or similar)Strong understanding of inventory accounting and operational financeComfortable operating in lean teams and fast-paced, post-acquisition environmentsHands-on and detail-oriented with ability to also think strategicallyBased in or near Chicago strongly preferred
