Air & Sea Business Development ManagerLocation: Atlanta, GeorgiaDepartment: Sales & Business DevelopmentReports To: Regional Sales DirectorPosition SummaryWe are seeking a driven and experienced Air & Sea Business Development Manager to expand international freight forwarding business across the Atlanta and Southeast U.S. market. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new Air Freight, Ocean Freight, and Customs Brokerage opportunities, as well as integrated global logistics solutions.The ideal candidate is a hunter-style sales professional with a strong understanding of international supply chains and a proven ability to close new business in a highly competitive logistics environment. This position offers the opportunity to leverage Atlanta’s position as a major transportation and distribution hub, including proximity to one of the world’s busiest cargo airports and key interstate freight corridors.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a structured sales strategy to grow Air & Ocean Freight revenue across the Atlanta and Southeast territory.Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals, trade shows, and industry events.Target key industries including automotive, aerospace, retail, apparel, consumer goods, healthcare, industrial manufacturing, and e-commerce.Build and maintain relationships with supply chain, logistics, and procurement decision-makers.Assess customer supply chain requirements and design tailored international freight solutions.Prepare and present pricing proposals, service offerings, and logistics solutions to prospective clients.Negotiate contracts, service agreements, and pricing structures to ensure profitability and long-term growth.Collaborate closely with operations, pricing, customs brokerage, and customer service teams to ensure seamless onboarding and execution.Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurate forecasting using CRM systems.Monitor market trends, trade lanes, airline capacity, and ocean carrier developments impacting the Southeast region.Represent the company at logistics conferences, trade associations, and networking events.Consistently meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field preferred.Minimum 5 years of business development or outside sales experience within international freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation services.Proven success in selling Air Freight and Ocean Freight services.Strong track record of generating new business and exceeding sales quotas.Solid understanding of international logistics, Incoterms, customs procedures, and global trade flows.Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce or similar platforms.Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout Georgia and the Southeast region.Preferred QualificationsEstablished network of importers, exporters, distributors, or manufacturers in the Southeast U.S. market.Experience selling value-added logistics services such as warehousing, distribution, fulfillment, or project cargo.Knowledge of key trade lanes including Asia-Pacific, Europe, Mexico, and South America.Familiarity with air cargo operations tied to major airport hubs such as ATL and surrounding logistics corridors.Industry certifications such as CLTD, CSCMP, or similar credentials are a plus.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary plus uncapped commission structure.Performance-based bonuses and incentives.Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) with company matching.Paid time off and company holidays.Professional development and ongoing industry training.Career advancement within a global freight forwarding organization.
