Structural Steel estimator

Job DescriptionCommercial structural steel company seeking a highly motivated, hardworking steel estimator to work IN-HOUSE at either of our two locations; Fort Lauderdale or Fort Pierce, FL. The ideal candidate is a proactive Estimator with extensive experience in structural and miscellaneous steel. You should possess deep technical expertise and the autonomy to produce precise material take-offs and comprehensive estimates under minimal supervision.Key Qualifications & Technical SkillsIndustry Expertise: 5+ years of experience in the steel construction industry (preferred).Codes & Standards: Strong command of AWS D1.1 and AISC construction standards.Core Competencies: Proven ability to perform accurate material take-offs directly from plans and specifications.Operational Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of steel fabrication and erection workflows.Software Proficiency: * Advanced skill set in Microsoft Excel & Word.Functional understanding of Tekla PowerFab (EPM).Professional Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, time management, and organizational abilities; must be able to collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, and project managers.Education & Preferred ExperienceAcademic Background: AAS or BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.Software Knowledge: Familiarity with industry-standard estimation and detailing software.
