Job DescriptionCARING PEOPLE ALLIANCE JOB DESCRIPTIONPorter/Custodial WorkerStatement of General PurposeThe Porter/Custodial Worker is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the buildings and grounds of the Community Center.Examples Of Essential Functions And ResponsibilitiesCleans, paints, and maintains buildings and grounds throughout the Community Center property. Cleans bathrooms, floors, windows, sidewalks, walls, etc. Removes ice and snow from Center sidewalks and walkways. Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs to Center buildings and equipment. Collects, stores, and removes trash, garbage, and refuse; replaces light bulbs; cleans or replaces HVAC and other filters; bleeds down feed-water valves; etc. Conducts regular inspections of buildings and grounds, and reports any unsafe or unsanitary conditions to Center management. Paints, varnishes, finishes, waterproofs, and performs similar functions for Center property. Performs related work as required. Core CompetenciesFamiliarity with the maintenance of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. Ability to perform cleaning, painting, waxing, disinfecting, and other custodial tasks. Ability to use hand and power tools and cleaning equipment. Ability to comply with instructions for the use of cleaning materials and chemicals.
