Machine Operator

This position uses hand and other grinding equipment to grind and smooth areas of metal parts in order to: remove defects, sharp edges, scratches, and other excess material. *Key Responsibilities:* * Operate machinery, including polishing and grinding equipment, to grind any metal workpieces to their prescribed specifications to ensure high-quality products. * Finish products by hand using hand tools to ensure the surfaces are filed or finished accordingly. * Provide quality control by inspecting workpieces as they come out of the equipment and removing any defective pieces. * Keep all equipment running by inspecting and performing basic maintenance, including lubrication and cleaning, and scheduling repairs when needed. * Perform basic repairs, including replacing parts when they are worn down or broken, within the scope of expected knowledge and expertise. *Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements:* * High school diploma or equivalent * Attention to detail * Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper and Brass. * Flexible schedule is required; this position requires shift work as well as some OT and weekend work. * Strong team player and reliable. * High School Diploma or GED is preferred. * Understanding of common weld defects and their causes * Work in fast paced environment with fast changing priorities. * Sitting, Standing, Lifting Pay: From $19.00 per hour Application Question(s): * Okay with temporary assignment?
