Programming Instructor
Job Description
We are looking for passionate coding instructors to teach K-12 students in after-school programs, weekend workshops, and camps. We maintain a low teacher-student ratio (from 1:1 to 1:4) where possible, and keep students and instructors together throughout an entire course for a meaningful experience.
Instructors will take on a number of basic responsibilities:
* Teach students of all ages (K-12)
* Lead weekly classes on a number of different programming subjects
* Work with students to create their own coding projects and presentations
* Run trial classes to inspire future programmers
As your experience grows, there is room to take on more responsibility, from project development to curriculum development.
Requirements
* Computer/Engineering/STEM/Education related majors or relevant experience
* Interest in learning new programming languages and tools (e.g., Python, Minecraft MakeCode, Scratch, App Inventor, Unity, Roblox)
* At least one afternoon/evening available per week
* Enjoy working with kids of all ages
* Exercise patience and humility
* A passion for learning and education
Preferred Experience (but not required)
* Familiarity with popular programming languages (Python, Java, C#, HTML/CSS, JavaScript)
* AI and Machine Learning
* Game Development
* Web Development
* Algorithms

About Coding Mind
Founded in the fall of 2017, Coding Mind (http://codingmind.com/) is dedicated to educating students of all ages in computer science through interactive lessons and enriching programming projects. With five campuses nationwide and plans for continued expansion, we are broadening our reach through both online and in-person programs for students nationwide and abroad. We offer after-school programs, weekend workshops, summer camps, and 1-on-1 mentorship. Our curriculum heavily focuses on AI, particularly Generative AI, and we emphasize a learn-by-doing philosophy. Our coding curricula involve the development of real-world applications, such as robotics, AI, machine learning, mobile apps, web apps, and games.
