Project Cost Accountant

Location: Oxford, CTCompensation:$65,000–$80,000About The CompanyOur client, a growing and well-established organization in the Oxford, CT area, is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Project Cost Accountant to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with project managers and leadership while playing a key role in financial tracking, reporting, and project performance analysis.ResponsibilitiesMonitor and track project costs, budgets, and financial performancePrepare and maintain job cost reports and project profitability analysesReview project-related expenses to ensure accurate coding and allocationAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for ongoing projectsSupport monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processesReconcile project accounts and investigate discrepanciesCollaborate with project managers to ensure accurate financial reporting and cost controlPrepare billing support documentation and assist with invoicing processesMaintain accurate financial records and documentation related to projectsAssist with process improvements and implementation of best practices related to project accountingQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred1+ years of accounting experience, preferably in project accounting, cost accounting, construction, manufacturing, or related industriesStrong understanding of job costing and project-based accounting principlesProficiency in Excel and accounting software/ERP systemsStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentAttention to detail and problem-solving mindsetWhy Apply?Competitive salary and benefits packageStable and growing company environmentCollaborative team cultureOpportunity for career growth and professional development
