Job Description ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:Operation PAR, Inc. is a non-profit organization offering the full continuum of services for individuals with substance use and/or mental health disorders.  PAR has been providing comprehensive behavioral health treatment in west Florida since 1970 through advocacy, education, clinical services, and research.BENEFITS:9 paid holidays per year3 weeks of PTO per year (on top of holidays).  PTO increases to 4 weeks/year after 2 years of employment, and then to 5 weeks/year after 5 years of employment.Medical/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance401k matchingTuition reimbursementContinuing education, reimbursement for professional certifications, licensure and qualified supervision.GENERAL DESCRIPTION:Provide ongoing support to preschool teachers in the implementation of the curriculum, offering coaching and modeling best practices in classroom instructionObserve teachers in the classroom and provide feedback on instructional strategies, classroom management, and the use of educational resourcesAssist teachers in developing engaging, hands-on activities that support children's cognitive, social-emotional, language, and motor developmentGuide teachers in creating developmentally appropriate learning activities that are aligned with the curriculum and engage children in active learningEncourage teachers to incorporate various teaching methods such as creative arts, science experiments, literacy activities, and social-emotional learning into their daily schedulesESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Commitment to workplace of dignity and respectCompliance with all Equal Employment Opportunity rules and guidelinesAbility to work with others cooperatively and cordially in a spirit of teamworkAbility to appear at work as scheduled, mindful of the company's attendance policiesAbility to accept direction from managers and supervisors in a respectful and collaborative mannerREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Completion of the minimum number of academic hours required for teaching the specific educational level assignedAssociate Degree or Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or related field preferredTwo years experience in a licensed childcare centerA comparable amount of training, education, or experience may be substituted for the above minimum qualifications if regulation requirements for the position are metKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of developmental milestonesKnowledge of developmental delays and methods of addressing problemsKnowledge of learning styles and appropriate teaching methodsKnowledge of Pinellas County License Board, ELC and other related regulationsKnowledge of basic typing and computer skillsAbility to interact in a positive, productive and effective way with counselors, parents, medical personnel and clerical staffAbility to work with parents and a positive non-threatening mannerAbility to apply appropriate observation and documentation skillsAbility to coordinate with outside agencies to facilitate reunificationAbility to display enthusiasm and create a warm, caring atmosphere of learning for the child and the parentStrong knowledge of early childhood development and instructional strategiesAbility to create engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activitiesStrong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skillsProficient in using educational technologies and resources to enhance learningAbility to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and familiesESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/TECHNICAL SKILLS:Ability to write accurately and legiblyModerate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows-based computersAbility to accurately type at least 40 words per minuteAbility to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extended periods of timeAbility to bend, stoop and reach.
