Sr Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team in the steel industry. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing competitive bids, and supporting the sales team in acquiring new business. Your expertise in steel and construction projects will play a key role in ensuring project success and profitability.If you have a strong analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and a deep understanding of steel-related projects, we encourage you to apply.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze project specifications, architectural, structural, and civil drawings to determine requirements and constraints.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to understand objectives, timelines, and budget limitations.Conduct detailed cost analysis including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other expenses.Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids and proposals in compliance with project requirements and industry standards.Review and evaluate subcontractor quotes to secure cost-effective solutions.Maintain knowledge of steel industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new technologies to inform estimates.Partner with the sales team to support business development and client growth.Participate in pre-bid meetings and post-bid evaluations to refine estimates.Ensure accuracy and completeness of all estimation documents, including calculations, unit costs, and assumptions.Track project progress and compare actual costs to estimates to improve future accuracy.Sales experience is a plus. QualificationsDegree in Engineering, Construction Management, Structural Steel, or related field preferred.3-5 years of estimating experience required.Proven experience estimating steel construction or fabrication projects.Strong knowledge of steel construction processes, materials, and techniques.Understanding of project management principles including scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessment.Proficiency with estimating software and tools such as Bluebeam and AutoCAD.Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.Strong communication skills for collaboration with teams, clients, and subcontractors.Proactive problem-solving skills and results-driven mindset.Familiarity with industry regulations, codes, and standards.Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator are a plus.
