EI&C Supervisor
General Position DescriptionWhile keeping safety at the forefront – oversees EI & C Shop operation to ensure efficient coordination of installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting / repairs of all mill equipment while following established procedures and mill policies. Continually upgrade employee skills to meet the demands of new technology and electrical safety. Provide for the effective and timely completion of maintenance work through coordination with other Maintenance Department leaders, Planners, and production departments.Role and ResponsibilitiesChampions Safety in Every Aspect of the PositionEnsure Completion of all Incident (Substandard Conditions, Near Miss, Injuries, Observations, etc.) InvestigationsEnsure a high level of awareness and employee compliance for Pixelle’s Electrical Safety PolicyEnsure Environmental Systems Process Awareness and ComplianceUnderstands and Administers Company PolicyResponsible for identifying / executing Reliability Roadmap Action ItemsConsistently apply documented processes (Pixelle Playbook) to proactively drive tasks, follow established workflows, and support team members to achieve measurable outcomes.Responsible for next level conflict resolutionSupports Apprenticeship Program by Auditing the ProcessMust Demonstrate Good Communication Skills Throughout the OrganizationResponsible for Employee On-boardingResponsible for Succession PlanningMust maintain effective working relationships with operations, other Maintenance personnel, vendors, contractors, and engineersWork closely with Engineering, production, and other departments, at all levels of supervision, throughout the plant in making estimates, determining priorities, scheduling, and managing shop personnelMaintain Awareness of Work Order Backlog – Indentify Deficiencies and Improvement Opportunities.Monitors Daily/Weekly Progress of Scheduled Work (DCC)Evaluates and Manages the Collection of Job Feedback to Improve Future WorkIs accountable to review and approve all discretionary spending in the shops along with purchase requisitions, shipping requisitions, authority to stock, etc.Writes and reviews purchase requisitions, reviews and approves job invoices, audits invoices and VMI activities and manages spend in the maintenance department within approved budgetsInput to Capital Budgeting process along with recommending replacements, upgrades, and/or the addition of equipment to minimize maintenance costs and downtimeInput to all OutagesServes in the On-Call Supervisor RotationDemonstrates Forward ThinkingMust be able to handle deadlines, variable workloads and be on call 24 hours when neededProactive in driving continuous improvement through Scheduling, PM/PdM (Reliability Improvement) and 6SEnsure Shop Equipment Continually Meets ISO StandardsParticipates in RCFA process and drives reliability into the business.Qualifications And Education RequirementsJourneyman level certification in a state recognized apprentice program or equivalent work experience is desiredMust have the ability to manage peopleMinimum of five (5) years experience in an industrial environmentMust have above average communication skills, both written and oralAbove average computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office productsSAP, SAP-PM or other software experience is requiredAbility to work both independently and as a team memberKnowledge of safety hazards and appropriate precautions applicable to work assignmentsAbility to wear respirator safety equipmentAbility to wear protective clothing as required by prevailing conditionsAbility to perform mathematical computations for design, layouts, drawings, tolerances, fabrication, estimating and purchasingAbility to read, interpret and apply information from files, drawings, catalogs, reports, and manuals.Must possess and maintain a valid Pennsylvania driver’s licenseWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; taste or smell; the employee is frequently required to sit; the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
