Choir and Music Teacher - Pipestone Area Middle and High SchoolJob DescriptionPipestone Area School District #2689 is seeking a Vocal/Choir and Classroom Music Teacher. This includes teaching appropriate standards-based content, contributing to a team-based approach, embracing a student-centered approach, and participating in staff professional development sessions and other meetings. Pedagogically, best practices are encouraged and innovation expected. The vocal music teacher will lead and direct a program that includes school and MSHSL performances.QualificationsHold or be eligible to obtain a Minnesota teaching certificate with appropriate endorsementPossess a high level of organizational and communication skillsKnowledgeable computer user; familiarity with Student Information SystemsSolid classroom management skills based on current research practicesWillingness to be involved in other aspects of the Pipestone Area Schools culture and communityTeam Player and team-oriented thinkerResponsibilitiesDeliver high quality standards-based lessons to students for classroom music and choir.Collaborate with colleagues to meet student needs.Maintain accurate records of students' grades and attendance.Participate in mentoring and instructional coaching programs, align and deepen curriculum, and improve pedagogy.Practice and carry out rules and procedures as defined by the Pipestone Area School District.Participate in staff in-service, staff meetings, department work, committee work, parent conference nights, etc.Support the Principal with supervision of students.Communicate in a positive way to develop rapport with learners and treat them with respect.Demonstrate a commitment to the school's mission and vision as well as the Pipestone Area Schools Portrait of a Graduate.SupervisionTeachers report to the building principal.Extra-curricular ActivitiesOpportunities for extra-curricular activities may be available and posted on the District website.Compensation And BenefitsCertified staff are compensated according to the current master agreement.Salary Range: $51,000 $80,000 (based on education and experience)Benefits Include:Health insurance with HSA contributionLife insuranceEarned Safe and Sick Time (ESST)403(b) matchVoluntary Benefits (employee-paid):DentalVisionSupplemental life insuranceLong-term disabilityLegal ShieldAFLACTo ApplyComplete the online application.Pipestone Area Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer
