The ideal candidates will support students with diverse learning needs by providing individualized instruction, managing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), conducting IEP meetings, and ensuring appropriate modifications and accommodations for student success.QUALIFICATIONSExperience in special education teaching.Ability to obtain a valid Minnesota teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements in Special Education.Proficiency in technology; familiarity with Student Information Systems is a plus.Strong classroom management skills based on research-driven best practices.Ability to support and work with students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.Willingness to engage in Pipestone Area Schools' culture and community.Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and deliver high-quality, standards-based lessons tailored to student IEP needs.Provide individualized and small-group instruction to support skill acquisition and development.Teach and assist special education students while collaborating with general education teachers to enhance learning outcomes.Manage and maintain accurate Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).Conduct IEP meetings and collaborate with parents, staff, and service providers.Ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are implemented to support student learning.Participate in mentoring, instructional coaching, curriculum alignment, and pedagogy improvement.Engage in staff meetings, professional development, committee work, and parent conferences.Maintain accurate records of student grades, attendance, and progress.Ensure a positive classroom environment by implementing district rules, procedures, and behavioral expectations.Foster strong communication and build rapport with students, treating all learners with respect.Manage paraprofessionals.SUPERVISION Reports to the building principal.EXTRA-CURRICULAR OPPORTUNITIES Visit the District website for current extracurricular openings.COMPENSATION Certified staff are compensated according to the current master agreement. Salary range is $51,000- $80,000 and benefits include health/health saving account contribution, life insurance, Earned Safe and Sick Time (ESST) leave days and 403B match.
