Forward Deployed Engineer
Role: Forward Deployed EngineerNo of positions: 5Rate: $70 USDLocation: Mountain View, CAAbout The RoleAs the FDE Supporting Engineer, you are the second chair on engagements — deep hands-on execution behind the FDE Lead. You're not customer-facing yet; your value is in the build: turning the Lead's architecture and commitments into working software across thestack, with real depth and real verification. This is a strong seat for engineers who want to grow toward an FDE Lead role over time. What you'll do Own the actual build: deep, genuine hands-on execution across the stack — frontend (React / Angular), BFF / GraphQL, backend APIs, cloud, and CI/CD. Deliver specific stack and microflow work assigned by the FDE Lead, with strong attention to verification and quality. Run AI-assisted and agentic engineering workflows hands-on — ship agents and automations, and work comfortably directly against LLM APIs. Contribute to architecture and design discussions without owning the target-state decision — support and execute against the Lead's direction. Own your slice of delivery under the Lead's direction, and stay realistic about constraints and dependencies. Work professionally and clearly in internal working sessions. What we're looking for Full-stack, hands-on depth (core requirement): genuine experience building across multiple layers of the stack — not a single framework or narrow specialty — with real end-to-end delivery you can speak to in detail. AI / agentic engineering fluency (core requirement): hands-on experience running agent harnesses, building automations, and working directly against LLM APIs — not just passing exposure to AI tools. Working understanding of architecture and target-state design: enough to execute well against a given direction and contribute meaningfully to design conversations. Delivery ownership: comfortable owning your piece of a complex engagement and operating with some autonomy under a lead's direction. Client-facing experience is not required for this seat — you won't be in the room with the customer's CTO yet — but professionalism in working sessions is expected.Nice to have Experience with legacy-to-modern migrations or modernization work at scale. Named AI-assisted engineering or agent-building artifacts you can walk through. Interest in growing into a customer-facing FDE Lead role over time.Growth pathThis seat is a proving ground for the FDE Lead track. Engineers who build deep full-stack and AI fluency, and start developing architecture ownership and stakeholder command, grow into Lead roles over time.
