You'll be responsible for supervising survey crews, operating Trimble GPS and robotic total stations, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of fieldwork.This role is ideal for a Senior Survey Technician or Assistant Crew Chief ready to step into a leadership role, or a current Crew Chief seeking a more entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. You'll have the opportunity to lead a variety of projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate closely with project managers and engineers.What You'll DoLead and conduct fieldwork for boundary, topographic, ALTA, as-built, and construction layout surveysSupervise, train, and mentor field crew membersOperate and maintain Trimble GPS and robotic total station equipmentEnsure accuracy in data collection, field notes, and measurementsInterpret and execute survey instructions from project managers and engineersCoordinate field activities and communicate project needs with the office teamFollow all safety policies and procedures on-siteAssist with process improvements and implement new survey technologiesRepresent CAGE professionally on job sites and with clientsWhat You BringHigh school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in Surveying or related field preferred)Minimum 5 years of land surveying experience, with at least 2 in a leadership/supervisory roleProficient with GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectorsAbility to read and interpret engineering plans, survey notes, and construction drawingsStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsExcellent organizational and time management abilitiesPhysical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various outdoor conditionsValid driver's license and reliable transportationFamiliarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey software (preferred)Why Work with Us in the FieldOpportunity to GrowOn-the-job training and clear career development pathsSupportive team with experienced mentorsReal opportunities to build a long-term career in land surveyingStrong Team CultureTeam events, company book club, and all-hands gatheringsInclusive environment where everyone's ideas matterDonation match program to support causes you care aboutRewarding CompensationCompensation: $32-$42/hrThe hourly range provided is a general guideline.
