Apply via Dice today!in search of experienced Structural Technicians!. The selected candidate(s) will use your skills and expertise to assemble and/or create major assembly structures and minor part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling and reaming.You'll update job status on our operations database, translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include basic layout, precision drilling, countersinking and the use of calibrated tools, align parts on jigs and aerospace vehicles using templates and fixtures, and measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.You'll also be responsible for modifying incomplete and complete assemblies and incorporating the changes into the structure, monitoring and verifying quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures, performing various maintenance duties and ensuring appropriate representation and communications occur between team members, team leads, quality control and engineering.Must-haves:High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 10 or more years of relevant experienceA higher level degree may substitute for experienceRelated experience may be considered in lieu of required educationMust have/own tools in good working orderAbility to understand and interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publicationsAbility to complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining edge distance and pitchAdvanced experience with structure assembly, minor part fitting techniques and repair and refinishing such as airframe corrosion removal, as applicableAbility to install various fasteners such as rivets and hi-locksPreferred:Ability to travelBackground in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, NASA or US MilitaryAbility to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be requiredPhysical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps.Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity.Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colors.Frequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes. Frequently lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.Working Conditions:Frequently exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)Occasionally exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials.Frequently exposed to loud noises.Safety Sensitive Position:Responsible for the safety or security of people or property.Inspects structures, equipment or vehicles.Performs aviation related duties.Operate or supervise vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment or machinery
