Ready to Start Your Career with the City of Temple?Job SummaryUnder the general supervision of a Recreation Specialist or Recreation Leader II, the Recreation Leader I will lead and supervise summer camp / afterschool participants. This is a seasonal position. Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays and help in other divisions as needed.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the safety and well-being of campers and program participantsRotates and moves around to supervise children in a variety of settings including indoor, outdoor with possible exposure to inclement weather conditionsImplements lesson plans for children ages 5-13 in areas of recreation, adventure, education, and enrichmentPerforms daily tasks to include cleaning, answering phones, and general office related tasksMaintains essential records, prepares reports as required; to include but not limited to participation reports, usage reports, accident reports, and work ordersFollows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelinesPerforms other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsCompletion of two (2) years of high school or equivalentPreferred QualificationsOne (1) year experience working with children
