Senior Legal Counsel

DescriptionSenior Legal Counsel provides direct support to human resources and management for all labor and employment legal matters. This position will report to the Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer.Responsibilities IncludeProvide strategic, practical, and prompt advice on labor and employment mattersProvide advice and counsel for collective bargaining and labor agreement administrationManage response to claims of discrimination, harassment, including EEOC or other agency chargesProvide advice and counsel to ensure compliance with labor and employment laws including anti-discrimination, equal employment opportunity, wage and hour matters, ADA, FMLA, and any other regulatory requirementsRepresent the Company in litigation, arbitration, mediation and dispute resolutionPartner with legal and human resources colleagues to support Compliance and Ethics Program, including conducting internal investigations, as neededSupport development of strategies and initiatives for the social and governance aspects of Inteva’s sustainability goalsMaintain and communicate record retention policyDevelop and deliver training for human resources and supervisors on labor and employment law and complianceDraft and implement HR policies and proceduresDraft employment agreements, non-compete agreements, and other legal agreements; andEffectively manage all costs associated with outside legal services and employment litigationReq Number LEG-26-00001Position Requirements4-8 years' experience in labor and employment lawJuris Doctorate and admission to Michigan barLitigation experience requiredCompliance investigation experience preferredExperience in the automotive industry preferredExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong organizational and project management skillsAbility to work well both independently and collaboratively with other legal and business colleagues in fast-paced, global organizationDemonstrated ability to identify, define and analyze problems, establish decision-making parameters, assess risks, recommend prompt, practical solutions, and influence stakeholdersAbout the Organization Inteva Products is a leading global automotive supplier providing innovative, reliable, environmentally friendly products that enhance vehicle quality, safety and performance.
