Full Stack Engineer

Stellarus is building a modern healthcare platform that connects payers, providers, and members through secure, interoperable services. We build products for multiple customers and generally build rather than buy when a capability is core to the platform.We aren't looking for someone to just implement requirements. You will build across the user interface, services, data, and cloud infrastructure while setting technical direction across teams. AI-assisted development is part of our engineering process, and you will help improve how teams use it across design, implementation, testing, review, and documentation. We are looking for leaders that are energized by creative and critical thinking, building and sustaining high-performing teams, getting results the right way, and fostering continuous learning.ResponsibilitiesYour Work In this role, you will:Design, build, test, deploy, and operate customer-facing applications and platform services across the full stack.Set technical direction across products and domains while remaining close to the code.Design clear service boundaries, APIs, event-driven workflows, and data models for a secure multi-tenant platform.Build maintainable user experiences and backend services using the Stellarus technology stack.Make pragmatic architecture decisions that balance simplicity, delivery speed, reliability, security, and long-term maintainability.Own automated testing, CI/CD quality checks, observability, and production readiness so routine releases are safe and predictable.Diagnose complex production issues across applications, services, events, databases, and infrastructure, then address their root causes.Partner with product, design, security, and platform teams to turn ambiguous needs into durable solutions.Establish reusable engineering patterns, improve developer workflows, lead design reviews, and mentor other engineers.Apply AI-assisted engineering tools where they improve delivery or quality while maintaining independent technical judgment.QualificationsYour Knowledge and Experience 7+ years of software engineering experience with substantial ownership of production full stack systems.Strong TypeScript and JavaScript experience across modern frontend applications and Node.js services.Experience designing distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and event-driven workflows.Strong SQL and relational data-modeling skills, preferably with PostgreSQL.Experience building and operating containerized applications in Kubernetes and a major cloud platform. Azure is preferred; AWS or GCP experience is transferable.Practical experience with automated testing, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and production observability.Experience designing secure, multi-tenant applications using modern authentication and authorization standards.Principal-level judgment with the ability to simplify ambiguous problems, explain tradeoffs, influence across teams, and move from architecture to working code.Experience mentoring engineers and communicating clearly with technical and non-technical partners.Experience using AI-assisted development tools as part of a professional software delivery process.Experience in healthcare or another regulated industry is preferred.A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
