Senior Account Executive – Higher Education (Cybersecurity)Location: Remote – Central US (TX, IL, WI, MN, OK, or KS) Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent OTE: $220K | 50/50 Split | 6-Month Ramp with 75% GuaranteeThe OpportunityOur client is a globally recognised leader in identity security and privileged access management - trusted by thousands of organisations worldwide to protect their most critical assets from both internal and external threats.They're growing their Public Sector sales team and looking for a driven, hunter-mentality Account Executive to own and develop a defined higher education territory across Central US. This is a rare opportunity to join a market-leading cybersecurity business with a proven product portfolio, strong brand recognition, and a well-structured sales support model.The RoleYou'll take ownership of approximately 800 higher education accounts- colleges, universities, and community colleges - across a defined Central US territory. This is primarily a net-new hunting role (70–75% new business), with the remainder focused on expanding existing accounts.You'll manage the full sales cycle independently - from prospecting and pipeline generation through to close and renewal expansion - with typical deal cycles of three to six months. Annual quota sits at approximately $800K–$900K, with a structured onboarding programme to set you up for success from day one.What You'll DoOwn and develop a defined higher education territory, building and executing a structured territory sales planDrive net-new pipeline through proactive prospecting, cold outreach, and targeted account developmentManage the complete sales cycle from initial discovery through to close and renewalPartner with Solutions Engineers, Partner Account Managers, and SDRs to maximise territory coverage and deal velocityAlign with channel partners and resellers to extend reach and deliver value across the territoryDeliver compelling product demonstrations and presentations to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersLead RFP responses and manage complex multi-stakeholder deals through to closeMaintain accurate pipeline, whitespace, and forecasting data in SalesforceRepresent our client at industry events, conferences, and trade showsWhat You BringEssential:5+ years of customer-facing sales experience in cybersecurity, identity management, PAM, or IT softwareProven track record of meeting or exceeding quota - ideally within a higher education or public sector environmentTrue hunter mentality - comfortable with high telephone-based activity, cold prospecting, and building pipeline from scratchExperience managing full sales cycles independently in a complex, consultative environmentStrong experience working with channel partners, resellers, and distributorsExcellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills - able to engage at C-levelProficiency with Salesforce or equivalent CRMMust reside within the territory (TX, IL, WI, MN, OK, or KS)Nice to Have:Experience selling into higher education or public sector accountsFormal sales methodology training (MEDDIC, Challenger, SPIN, or similar)Knowledge of cybersecurity, PAM, or identity management solutionsWhat's On Offer✅ $220K OTE | 50/50 base/commission split ✅ 6-month ramp with 75% guarantee - genuine support to get you started ✅ Market-leading product portfolio with strong brand recognition ✅ Structured onboarding and SE/SDR/channel support model ✅ Remote working within territory ✅ Clear progression path within a scaling global businessInterested?
