Family Life Administrative Assistant
Wheaton Bible Church (WBC) is a dynamic, thriving multiethnic church community seeking to live out our mission to Love God, Love One Another, Love our Neighbors, and Love the Nations in the Chicago suburbs and globally with our 90+ sent missionaries and indigenous partners. We currently hold worship services in both English and Spanish while providing space, care, and leadership coaching for 5 additional ethnic language fellowship groups. Additionally, we serve our local community through West Chicago’s largest social service provider Puente de Pueblo by providing case management services for families, adult literacy programming, and after-school programming for children and youth. The Family Life Administrative Assistant provides administrative support of our multi-ethnic ministry serving children from birth through high school, as well as our special needs ministry. This role supports the purpose, mission, and values of Wheaton Bible Church by helping people Love God, Love One Another, Love Our Neighbors, and Love the Nations.Full-time - 40 hours/week. Schedule has some flexibility; Sunday mornings are required.Administrative and Ministry Support (80%) Provide administrative and coordination support to the Kids’ Life and Student Life teams, assisting with the planning, organization, and execution of programs and discipleship events. Support initiatives that further the mission of the Family Life Ministry. Maintain accurate attendance records and oversee database management for the Family Life Team. Participate in team meetings, regular check-ins, and collaborate on cross-department projects.Child Protection Process Management (15%) Serve on the Child Protection Team to support the maintenance and improvement of the screening process. Partner with the Kids’ Life and Student Life teams to ensure all volunteers complete the required Child Protection screenings in a timely manner.General Church Staff Involvement (5%) Participate in weekly staff prayer and monthly staff gatherings. Support church-wide events and initiatives such as Christmas and Easter services, CareFest, and Missions Fest. Maintain confidentiality in all matters related to membership, care, and communication. Contribute as a team member to the overall work and needs of the church.QualificationsDemonstrates spiritual maturity, Christlike character, and commitment to personal growth in prayer and God’s Word Passion for supporting ministry to children, students, and families Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and follow-through Collaborative, servant-hearted, and relationally strong 3-5 years of experience in administrative support or ministry operations preferred High School diploma required, BA or BS preferred Experience working with Word, Excel and Canva Alignment with WBC’s mission, doctrine, and values Willingness to become an active member at WBC Spanish fluency a plus Physical QualificationFrequent standing, walking, moving through church campus Prolonged periods of sitting, working at computer Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 25lbs Ability to bend, kneel and reach Ability to operate office equipment such as copiers and printers Status: Full-Time ,Non-exemptBenefits: All full-time positions are eligible for our full benefit package which includes: Medical and Dental insurance; PTO, sick time, holidays, 403B with up to 7% match; Life Insurance and Long-term disability.
