POSITION SUMMARY Reporting directly to the HR Manager, the Human Resources Generalist will play a key role in advancing the company’s people strategy by owning full-cycle recruiting, leading process improvements in onboarding, and supporting accurate payroll and reporting practices. This individual will be a proactive partner to leadership, ensuring workflows in our new Applicant Tracking System (ATS) are built for scalability, onboarding processes provide a seamless new-hire experience, and timekeeping/payroll practices are consistently accurate. The HR Generalist will balance hands-on execution with strategic recommendations, contributing directly to organizational growth and operational excellence. OBJECTIVES Recruiting & ATS Development Manage full-cycle recruiting, from job postings and candidate sourcing to interviews, offers, and onboarding. Develop, implement, and continuously improve workflows and standardized processes in the new ATS. Partner with managers to forecast staffing needs and ensure timely, effective hires. Onboarding & Employee Experience Oversee onboarding to create a professional, organized, and engaging new-hire experience. Continuously evaluate and improve onboarding materials, checklists, and communications. Support offboarding with consistent processes and exit interviews to provide actionable feedback for retention efforts. Benefits Administration & Leave Management Administer health, dental, vision, retirement, and other benefit programs, including enrollments and changes. Manage FMLA and other leave-of-absence cases, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements. Maintain accurate records of benefits and leave data and provide reporting to leadership as needed. Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions regarding benefits and leave. Generalist Support Support compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations. Act as a resource for employees and managers, providing guidance on HR policies and best practices. Contribute to HR projects, including performance management, employee engagement, and process efficiency initiatives. Job Requirements: COMPETENCIES Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to partner effectively with leadership and employees at all levels. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and professionalism. Knowledge of HRIS/ATS platforms, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and data accuracy. High level of professional ethics, integrity, and confidentiality. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum of 3–5 years’ HR experience, with direct exposure to recruiting, onboarding, benefits/leave, and compliance. Experience developing workflows and leveraging ATS or HRIS platforms strongly preferred. Prior experience in construction, skilled trades, or multi-state operations is a plus. Physical Requirements Comfortable communicating across different work environments—from office settings to job sites. Occasional travel to branch locations or project sites for employee-related matters. Ability to lift and transport materials such as employee files or office supplies (up to 20 lbs).
