Maintenance Mechanic - Collections
JOB SUMMARY:This position is responsible for working with the Foreman of Collections/Distribution Systems to assist and complete the day to day operations of all lift stations, water booster stations and appurtenances.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of equipment repair methods in all phases of collections and distribution systems.Knowledge of city policies and procedures pertaining to equipment repair and maintenance.Knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques.Skill in the repair of collections and distribution equipment.Skill in the use of precision instruments such as micrometers and dial indicators.Skill in the safe use of a variety of hand and power tools.Skill in the use of equipment and vehicles such as gas and electric welding equipment, cranes, front-end loader, tractor, and trucks.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/ internship or having had a similar position for three to five years.Must complete and pass California State University, Sacramento (CSUS) Collections or Distribution correspondence course within the first 12 months of employment.Must be able to obtain a GAWP Class III Maintenance Technologist license within 12 months of employment.Must possess and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License from state of residency.Must obtain National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) 100 and 700 within three (3) months of employment.
