Facilities Maintenance Technician Lead

JOB SUMMARY:This position is responsible for performing general maintenance repair work on the City's buildings. Tasks involve rough and finished carpentry, making cabinets, hanging and finishing sheetrock, laying carpet and tile, painting, pouring concrete, laying bricks, plumbing and roof repairs.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Thorough knowledge of the methods, techniques, and standards used in cabinet making, carpentry, masonry, painting, plumbing, concrete pouring and building maintenance.Knowledge of standard practices, methods, materials and tools of the carpentry trade.Knowledge of building codes and blueprints.Knowledge of applicable building and safety code requirements.Skill in the care and use of hand bench tools, machinery and equipment of the carpentry trade.Skill in the oral and written communications.Ability to work independently and complete projects in a timely fashion and meet assigned deadlines.Ability to design, build, install and repair structural woodwork, flooring, ceilings, and carpentry.Ability to operate and maintain hand and power carpentry tools.Ability to read and comprehend plans and blueprints.Ability to perform heavy physical labor and follow and give oral and written instructions.Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Must have High School Diploma or G.E.D.Must have 2-5 years of general maintenance experience.Supervisory experience helpful.May be required to obtain certification by the State in one of the utility fields.Must already possess or obtain National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) 100 and 700 within three (3) months of employment.Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license from state of residency.Must already possess or obtain National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) 100 and 700 within three (3) months of employment.
